“Mapping Your Memoir:
The Writing Process and Creating Structure out of Chaos”
During our time together we’ll discuss the memoir writing process and then deconstruct an array of structural devices in order to determine what techniques best serve your story.
This event is open to the public with a $5 suggested donation fee. Wavied for students.
Kristine Bio: Kristine LeBlanc is the owner of Desire Lines Writing Studio in Downtown Mount Vernon. She is also an English instructor at Skagit Valley College and has worked with nearly 1,700 students. She has also assisted dozens of senior citizens with their memoirs.
Kristine earned her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing (with an emphasis in Creative Nonfiction) at Antioch University. She is currently working on a coming-of-age in the ‘80s memoir and a collection of personal narratives (working title – The Going Price for Love). Born and raised in New England, she has lived on the West Coast for the past twenty years.
Kristine is passionate about learning, language, and helping others honor their creative spirits – their desire lines. She says, “Considering that I feel most engaged in life when I’m honing my writing skills, harnessing my naturally creative energy toward discovering what lies within, and helping others to reveal what it is they have to say, the studio is a life affirming gift for all of us.”
