Fidalgo Island Writers Guild
Welcomes Jack de Younge
“Memoirs as Liteary Objects”
January 3 from 4-6 at the Anacortes Public Library Community Room.
De Yonge will talk about the memoir as a popular form of writing. An expert at getting rejections for novel queries and manuscripts, he will also expatiate on how to work on cutting down the number of rejections. And in passing, he may offer a few comments on falling in love with active verbs.
Jack de Yonge is the author of the memoir, “Boom Town Boy”, published by Epicenter Press in 2010 and shortlisted by ForeWord Reviews as one of the 10 best memoirs published in the United States in 2010. The initial printing is exhausted and Epicenter Press plans a second printing next year of Jack’s history of his boyhood adventures growing up in Fairbanks, AK. He will, like any starving author, have his few remaining copies of “Boom Town Boy” on hand for those willing to write him a $15 check for a signed copy (or unsigned, for that matter).
The event is free and open to the public.
